Cincinnati DUI Lawyer – Jeremiah Denslow

Have you been charged with a DUI in Cincinnati or the surrounding area? If so, ask yourself the following five questions:

1. Would you like to be represented by a top Cincinnati DUI lawyer instead of an attorney who handles just a handful of DUI cases each year?

2. Do you want a Cincinnati DUI lawyer who focuses his practice on DUI defense instead of a DUI lawyer who also handles cases in domestic relations, child custody, personal injury and criminal defense?

3. Would you like your Cincinnati DUI lawyer to set strict limitations on the number of clients he accepts so that he can devote the appropriate amount of time and attention to you and your case?

4. Do you want a Cincinnati DUI lawyer who is recognized by groups like Super Lawyers, National Advocacy for DUI Defense, the National Trial Lawyers, and Avvo?

5. Do you want a Cincinnati DUI lawyer who gets the majority of charges against his clients dismissed/reduced to a lesser offense?

If you answered yes to each of those questions, you’re in the right place. Jeremiah Denslow is an experienced Cincinnati DUI lawyer who represents DUI clients in Hamilton, Butler, Warren, Clermont and Clinton Counties. Jeremiah structures his DUI defense practice using a very simple formula: (a) Focus on DUI/OVI and criminal defense; (b) Only in Ohio; and (c) A limited number of clients. If you think about his approach, it’s easy to see why he gets results. He has an extremely focused practice and accepts fewer clients than most other Cincinnati DUI lawyers. That translates to more attention, better outcomes and higher satisfaction rates for most of his clients.

Cincinnati DUI/OVI/Drinking and Driving Explained in the Easiest Terms

Any Cincinnati DUI lawyer can tell you that driving under the influence (DUI), driving while impaired (DWI), and operating a vehicle while under the influence of alcohol or drugs (OVI) are common acronyms people use when referring to the general prohibition on drinking and driving in Cincinnati. The charge encompasses the criminal offense of operating a motor vehicle while impaired by drugs or alcohol, or operating a motor vehicle with a blood alcohol concentration (BAC) of 0.08% or higher, also called a per se DUI. In addition, Cincinnati has a high tier DUI, or super DUI, where a DUI driver has an elevated BAC concentration of 0.17% or higher.

In Ohio, DUI is considered an extremely serious offense that carries severe penalties if the driver is convicted. How severe? For starters, a Cincinnati DUI carries mandatory jail time up to a maximum of six months, even for first-time offenders. It also carries a mandatory Ohio license suspension up to three years and a mandatory fine up to $1075. In addition, Cincinnati Ohio DUI courts can require you to complete a substance abuse treatment program and put special DUI license plates onto your vehicle, along with an ignition interlock device that requires you to submit a breath sample every time you start your car. For individuals with prior DUI convictions on their records, the penalties are much more severe—more mandatory jail time, higher fines, longer license suspensions and many collateral consequences.

Unfortunately, Hamilton county judges do not have the discretion to go below the mandatory minimum sentences in a Cincinnati DUI case. However, the penalties on this page only apply to drivers who are convicted of DUI. An experienced Cincinnati DUI lawyer may be able to prevent that from happening. If you have a DUI case, it’s important to contact a top Cincinnati DUI lawyer to see if he can get the case dismissed or reduced to a lesser offense.
