The Ohio DUI Dude's Story

Most attorneys have a fairly diverse practice. For example, it's not unusual for an attorney to accept cases in domestic relations, criminal defense, personal injury, estate planning and even DUI defense. Typically, these attorneys will have hundreds of cases open at any time and no limitation on the number of clients they accept. They will also have multiple hearings every day of the week. I’ve learned that this type of practice can appear fairly successful from the outside, but not necessarily from the inside.

To understand what I mean, ask yourself a few basic questions: (1) If an attorney has a case load of a hundred clients or more, how can the attorney give your case the time and attention it demands? (2) In an environment where the legal landscape changes on a daily basis, how can an attorney who practices criminal defense, divorce, personal injury and DUI defense stay on the precipice of new legal developments and emerging defense techniques? (3) If an attorney has five or six hearings scheduled the same day as yours, and minimal time between each hearing, how well can the attorney recall the specific facts of your case and credibly present them to a judge, jury or prosecutor? The answers are obvious.

I run my practice using a simple formula: (1) I only handle DUI cases; (2) I only practice in Ohio; (3) I keep my court schedule light; and (4) I only accept approximately one new client each week. If you spend just a minute or two thinking about my approach, it's intuitive why I get results. Less clients; more attention for each client; extremely focused practice area.
